Dogo Argentino Dog is native to Argentina. Also referred as Argentinian Mastiff, this breed was developed by Dr. Antonio Martinez in early nineteenth century. This breed is descendent of Cordoba and several other dogs. These dogs were bred with the motive to develop a strong and balanced hunting companion and a fighter.

Physical appearance:
These dogs have height between 23.5 and 27 inches. They weigh 85 to 100 pounds and sometimes even more. They have well-built body with broad chest. They have large head with short muzzle and brown eyes. Their ears are usually cropped, but some owners prefer natural ears. They have white coat, which is short and smooth.

Grooming and Behavior:
These dogs can be groomed easily. They need brushing with soft bristle brush at least two times in a week. They are very loyal and hard working dogs and thus, they can’t be just family pets instead they can also do a lot of your work. They need experienced owners who can assign them work and also work with them on day-to-day basis.

Some of these dogs are good to children, while the others may not tolerate their rough play at all. It is advisable not to keep two Dogos of the same sex together as they are aggressive fighters.

Exercise and Training:
This breed requires daily exercise consisting of couple of walks, running, pulling of weight and hunting as well. The exercise should be conducted in fenced-in area as they may forget about the training on seeing or scenting a prey.
